Guyana Human Rights Association (GHRA) and Wapichan Communities in the Rupununi are raising major concerns over road building plans affecting pristine forest in the south of the country on lands within Wapichan territory.
La Asociación de Derechos Humanos de Guyana (GHRA por sus siglas en inglés) y las comunidades Wapichan de la región de Rupununi están manifestando importantes inquietudes por los planes de construcción de una carretera que afecta a bosques prístinos situados dentro del territorio Wapichan en el sur del país.
L’Association des droits humains du Guyana (Guyana Human Rights Association – GHRA) et les communautés wapichan du Rupununi expriment de sérieuses préoccupations au sujet des projets de construction routière qui ont un impact sur la forêt vierge dans le sud du pays sur des terres situées à l’intérieur du territoire wapichan. Le tracé de la route en construction à partir du Brésil traverserait le village de Parabara dans le Sud du Rupununi et ouvrirait une zone de forêt pluviale ancienne le long d’un chemin menant au fleuve Essequibo et au-delà jusqu’au Suriname.
Asosiasi HAM Guyana (GHRA) dan masyarakat Wapichan di Rupununi menyampaikan kekhawatiran yang besar atas rencana pembangunan jalan yang akan berdampak pada hutan alam di bagian selatan negara tersebut,yaitu yang berada di dalam wilayah masyarakat Wapichan. Jalan yang akan dibangun dari Brasil tersebut akan melintasi Desa Parabara di daerah Rupununi Selatan dan akan membabat hutan hujan alam tua di sepanjang rute ke arah Sungai Essequibo dan terus sampai Suriname.

El 1 de noviembre de 2013 una serie de organizaciones indígenas y de la sociedad civil de Perú, a saber, FENAMAD, AIDESEP y Derecho Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (DAR), junto con la Coordinadora Nacional de Derechos Humanos presentaron pruebas en una audiencia ante la Comisión Interamericana.Los peticionarios documentaron que el Gobierno peruano no había proporcionado protección efectiva a pueblos indígenas en aislamiento voluntario en Perú.

Les pétitionnaires ont fait état de l’inaction du gouvernement péruvien pour ce qui est d'assurer la protection effective des peuples autochtones isolés au Pérou.
Pada tanggal 1 November 2013 organisasi-organisasi masyarakat adat dan masyarakat sipil dari Peru termasuk FENAMAD, AIDESEP, Derecho Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (DAR), dan Koordinator Nasional Bidang HAM mengajukan bukti-bukti dalam sebuah acara dengar pendapat di depan Komisi Inter-Amerika.Para pemohon mendokumentasikan kegagalan pemerintah Peru untuk memberikan perlindungan yang efektif bagi masyarakat adat terpencil di Peru.
