IPLC Outlooks on Biodiversity publication: open peer review process (open until 11 September 2016)

Outlooks on Biodiversity: Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities’ contributions to the implementation of the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020. A complement to the fourth edition of the Global Biodiversity Outlook.

This publication is a collaboration between Forest Peoples’ Programme (FPP), the International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity (IIFB) and the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD) to demonstrate the essential contributions that indigenous peoples and local communities are making towards the achievement of all 20 Aichi Biodiversity Targets.

The IIFB, in response to the findings and recommendations of the Global Biodiversity Outlook (GBO-4) and its mid-term assessment of progress on the achievement of the Strategic Plan, agreed to highlight their own perspectives and experiences as a complement to GBO4. Examples of on-the-ground actions were submitted by members of IIFB to bridge the current information gap in reporting on global targets and local initiatives.

This publication will be launched at CBD COP 13 in December 2016 and will be supplemented by a website where longer case studies and additional stories and materials are available.

The report will be available in English, Spanish and French; the draft for peer review is available in English only. Comments are welcome in all languages.

Please note the peer review process is now closed and the publication is being revised
