The Accountability Framework initiative (AFi)

The Accountability Framework initiative (AFi) is a roadmap for companies to set goals, take action, and report on progress towards addressing deforestation, ecosystem conversion, and human rights violations in their agricultural and forestry supply chains. It was designed to guide companies from start to finish as they work towards their ethical supply chain goals. The Framework is made up of 12 core principles and 13 associated operational guidance documents, including on respect for the rights of indigenous peoples and local communities.

FPP was part of the diverse coalition of human rights and environmental NGOs that led the development of the Accountability Framework between 2017 and 2019. We continue to be an AFI Steering Group member working towards the implementation of the Framework by companies along global supply chains.
