Federación por la Autodeterminación de los Pueblos Indígenas (FAPI) is an autonomous and representative indigenous federation, made up of 12 organisations of Indigenous Peoples of Paraguay, of the two regions of the country: Eastern and Western or Chaco.
FAPI's objectives are:
- The defense of the collective and individual rights of the Indigenous Peoples of Paraguay.
- The union of efforts between the organisations and / or associations for the full validity of the legal guarantees and the compliance established by the National Constitution, as well as in the international conventions.
- The articulation of actions with other indigenous organisations, both national and international, in order to strengthen the unity of Indigenous Peoples around the world, and to defend the rights and interests of member organisations and / or associations and through them to communities of indigenous people throughout the country.
