Association OKANI

Association Okani is a Baka run organisation from East Cameroon, created in 2006 and registered under N°063/RDA/B15/A2/BAPP/2, in Bertoua. Okani has extensive experience in advocacy, community project management, including income generation, mapping and participatory video. Okani’s general objective is to accompany at least 30% of the Baka and Bagyéli communities through the promotion of their rights, their representativeness, and their economic autonomy for the improvement of their living conditions. Okani is a founding member of Gbabandi, Cameroon’s national platform for forest indigenous peoples.
