In September 2019, the Amerindian Peoples Association (APA), Rainforest Foundation US, and Forest Peoples Programme published a report on the land tenure situation of 20 indigenous communities in the Cuyuni-Mazaruni Region.

In Guyana, communities are suffering because they do not have title to the full extent of their traditional lands, or have no title at all.  More than four years after the signing of the Guyana-Norway MoU, this special report seeks to assess the quality of treatment of indigenous peoples’ rights in Guyana’s national policies on land, low carbon development and forests.
