Madagascar

Madagascar is an island nation located off the east coast of Africa, where FPP has been working since 2018. Alongside our partner, we work on increasing community and ecosystem resilience, including supporting livelihood diversification and biodiversity mapping and monitoring.  

Main activities and current work 

Alongside our partners, we work on community resilience, sustainable livelihoods, and biodiversity management.  

This includes supporting community mapping and monitoring of the Loky Manambato area, a marine-protected region in the north of the island. Additionally, we work with our partners to address the issue of declining fish populations by teaching agricultural skills to local communities, helping them develop alternative and sustainable livelihoods.
