Green Development Advocates (GDA)
Green Development Advocates (GDA) is a civil society organisation under Cameroonian law, created in 2009 and legalized on June 30, 2011. It works to ensure that development respects social and environmental requirements.
GDA's mission is to contribute to the sustainable development of African tropical forests with respect for the culture, rights, interests and needs of African peoples.
Member of various national and international networks, GDA’s work revolves around four strategic axes :
- Securing and recognition of land and forest rights as well as the traditional governance systems of indigenous peoples and local communities;
- participatory and sustainable management of forests and other natural resources;
- climate change;
- and capacity building.
