Joint letter to end EU complicity in Amazon fires
In light of the forest fires in Brazil, Forest Peoples Programme and others ask the EU to urgently address complicity in current deforestation crisis and instruct the European Commission to work on EU regulation to end deforestation.
In light of the forest fires in Brazil, Forest Peoples Programme and others ask the EU to urgently address complicity in current deforestation crisis and instruct the European Commission to work on EU regulation to end deforestation.
The letter calls for the suspension of the Mercosur free trade agreement as well as the introduction of legislation deforestation and human rights abuses in EU supply chains. Signatories include Forest Peoples Programme, Environmental Investigation Agency, Rainforest Foundation Norway, Greenpeace and Fern, amongst others.
