NGOs call on the European Commission to develop an Action Plan on deforestation and degradation

FPP has joined with other NGOs to call on the European Commission to develop an Action Plan on deforestation and degradation. A feasibility study on policy options to step up EU action against deforestation is due to be made public very shortly by the Commission, along with a decision on the next steps. FPP believes it is time for the EU to honour its international commitments with a meaningful Action Plan, including legislative measures. Europe’s environmental legacy and the future of globally significant forests are both at stake.
