Rights, forests and climate briefings series

FPP is pleased to announce the first four in a continuing series of briefings that we are producing in collaboration with our partner organisations around the world.

These briefings address key issues for indigenous peoples arising from carbon finance, the international negotiations on the inclusion of forests in carbon finance, and national level processes of policy formulation to enable the inclusion of forests into payment schemes like Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD) in developing countries.

Most briefings will be provided in Spanish, French and English and are planned to cover the evolving situation in a wide variety of countries, including Guyana, Suriname, Paraguay, Panama, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Indonesia and others. All briefings will be posted on the FPP website when they are available.

The DRC briefing will be forthcoming later in December.
