The Kari-Oca Declaration

This ground-breaking declaration was issued by a diverse group of indigenous peoples’ representatives who had gathered in Brazil in preparation for the 1992 Earth Summit (sometimes called the Rio Summit).
The Kari-Oca Declaration has been cited again and again by indigenous peoples engaged in a huge array of international policy processes and had an impact far beyond the Rio Summit itself.
