Human rights organisations request information from Colombian Government on planned reactivation of aerial spraying with glyphosate

Human rights organisations continue to challenge the Colombian Government’s plans to reactivate its controversial policy of aerial spraying illicit crops with glyphosate. They are asking the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights to request information from the Colombian state on compliance with human rights obligations and related court rulings.
Despite the Colombian court judgements ordering the suspension of public hearings while CV19 quarantine restrictions are in force, the National Environmental Licensing Agency is again convening an online hearing for September 1, at the height of the pandemic.
