Realising the Rights of Indigenous Women: a new tool to help in the fight
FPP, and co-publishers Tebtebba Foundation and the Asian Indigenous Women’s Network (AWIN) are pleased to present the newly published guide ‘Realising Indigenous Women’s Rights: a guide to CEDAW’. The guide was formally released on the 8th of March to mark International Women’s Day. The guide seeks to support indigenous women’s organisations and community groups in Asia to understand how international law and legal processes can be used to support local and national level struggles. While focusing on CEDAW, the guide also explores other legal mechanisms, including other treaty bodies, both those designed to protect the rights of women and those designed to protect the rights of indigenous peoples. The publication can be downloaded for free, and is also available in hard copy free to indigenous peoples’ organisations.
