Renewed negotiations towards the post-2020 global biodiversity framework: advancing indigenous peoples’ rights in Geneva

post2020 GBF

From 14-29 March in Geneva 2022, the International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity (IIFB) will be attending the resumed session of three Convention on Biological Diversity's (CBD) meetings:

It is a critical moment for the IIFB to ensure the representation of Indigenous voices and rights in policies on biodiversity and climate change. The WG2020-3 process is expected to lead to the adoption of a post-2020 global biodiversity framework during the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP-15) in Kunming, China later this year.

With support from FPP, the IIFB will be taking part in conferences, talks and side-events in order to highlight the crucial role Indigenous people play in conserving biodiversity across the globe.
