“Juntando Fuerzas, Tejiendo Estrategias I” (2016) and “Juntando Fuerzas, Tejiendo Estrategias II” (2017) are documents produced by the Resguardo Indígena Cañamomo Lomaprieta (Riosucio, Supia – Caldas), synthesise key moments in a two-year project (2015-2017) entitled “Towards the Development of Standards and Mechanisms to Protect Ethnic Peoples Affected by Extractives (Phase II): Consolidating strategies for territorial control by implementing the rights to free, prior and informed consultation and consent in the Palenke Alto Cauca and the Resguardo Indígena Cañamomo Lomaprieta through inter-ethnic and international alliances.”

This brochure (Spanish only) outlines the mission and activities of the ancestral mining organisation (ASOMICARS) of the Resguardo.

An earlier synthesis report released in June 2017 shattered the myth that Indigenous and Afro-Descendant Peoples in Colombia are in conflict. Instead, it underscored how inter-cultural dialogue and sharing of territorial defence strategies can lead to productive, concrete actions that contribute towards uniting peoples, upholding rights, and forging peace in Colombia.
