About
The National Commission on Indigenous Territories (CNTI) is the official forum for dialogue, consultation and decision-making between the Indigenous Peoples of Colombia and the national government. It was created in 1996 by Decree 1397 to address issues related to the guarantee and effective enjoyment of territorial rights.
It brings together the country's main Indigenous organisations to coordinate policies on land and territory, strengthening the autonomy of Indigenous Peoples, the protection of life and nature, and the recognition of their knowledge systems and rights within national and international frameworks such as those on biodiversity and climate change.
