The Secretariat of the National Indigenous Territories Commission (CNTI) has issued a public statement denouncing violence and shootings directed at peaceful protests of indigenous rangers (guardia indígena) resulting in injuries to community leaders and members of the Cauca Regional Indigenous Council (CRIC).
CNTI calls on state authorities to cease all negative stigmatisation of peaceful indigenous demonstrations and social mobilisations in defence of life, peace and indigenous territories.
