Proceso de Comunidades Negras (PCN) y Palenke Alto Cauca (PAC)
PCN is a Black association that connects more than 140 grassroots organisations, community councils and individuals. These are constantly working to transform the political, social, economic and territorial reality of Black, Afro-descendant, Raizal and Palenquero communities, through the defence and vindication of their individual, collective and ancestral rights.
PCN was consolidated at the end of 1993, after a long road and the union of several efforts within the social movement to influence the 1991 Constituent Assembly, with which Colombia was denominated as a "multiethnic and multicultural" nation. This included the Transitory Article AT-55 for the regulation of the "Black Communities Law", one of the Afro-descendant peoples' greatest achievements in Colombian legislation.
